Along with fellow E-Media Tidbits blogger Katja Riefler, I’ve been in Munich attending DLD06
(Digital Lifestyle Day), which ended yesterday. Bringing together a
bunch of people from the many worlds of media, art, gaming, technology,
and architecture and having them talk about what digital life will look
like next year and a few years from now was refreshingly optimistic and
old-fashioned. Don’t get me wrong. It is very uplifting to hear
investors and entrepreneurs talk again about stealth projects and
watching out for the first contract being signed on a napkin.

If you want a to scan the proceedings in a very readable format, check Bruno Giussani‘s blog. Very interesting sessions yesterday were a panel with Melissa Mayer
of Google and a series of presentations by companies that develop
location-based services around the cell phone. As those services are by
definition local, you should use the comments link to this blog item to
give us a list of applications that your local newspaper has built or
will be building based on this technology.

DLD06 has made videos of all the event sessions.
