WBZ-TV didn’t have the resources to send reporters to the political conventions, but Boston’s CBS affiliate had no trouble rounding up staff for “over-the-top news coverage” of a CBS-owned restaurant’s opening. “They’re completely off the reservation on this one,” says TV news veteran Emily Rooney.
