The Society for News Design (SND) has named four newspapers as the “World’s Best-Designed” papers. Published in Russia, Portugal, Germany and Great Britain, the papers were chosen from nearly 350 entrants. More than 1,000 other design awards were issued in categories including design, graphics, illustration and photography.

As listed on SND’s blog, this year’s “World’s Best-Designed Newspapers” are:

  • Akzia in Moscow, daily, circulation 200,000
  • Expresso in Paco de Arcos, Portugal, daily, circulation 140,000
  • Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung in Frankfurt, Germany, weekly, circulation 320,000
  • The Guardian in London, daily, circulation 355,750

Complete results from SND’s “Best of Newspaper Design Creative Competition” will be posted at www.snd.org on Wednesday, February 20.
