The next conference in the series will be held Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Medill School newsroom space in downtown Chicago. “MWC 2009: Android Forgets To Join The Party” (InformationWeek): From the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: “There are still several large press conferences to go today, but given some of the embargoed news I’ve received, I am not aware of any Android phones being announced. Um. What gives? Many manufacturers have committed to the Android platform. Where are the handsets? Mobile World Congress is one of the biggest mobile events of the year. Android’s failure to show up makes me very nervous about the platform’s future.”

“Live TV Coming to the iPhone” (The Business Insider): “Digital video company PacketVideo says it’s done with its mobile video app for the iPhone, which it will offer to carriers to sell their own branded mobile TV services. [This] could potentially be a revenue maker for AT&T — if the carrier can get content deals figured out, etc.”
