Jim Seida, senior multimedia producer at msnbc.com, shared tips during a live chat about how he used an iPhone4 as his only reporting tool while testing out the Chevy Volt.

During the Electric Road Trip, Seida sent audio, video, photos and stories back via his iPhone. Seida is one of the original multimedia journalists. Fourteen years ago, he helped create multimedia storytelling for MSNBC’s online audience as part of a core group of multimedia producers.

Today, Seida continues to use video, still pictures, audio and new technologies such as HD View and Photosynth to tell stories ranging from in-depth personal stories about race relations to breaking news natural-disaster reporting.
