The North County Times in Escondido, Calif., quoted Poynter’s Rick Edmonds recently in an article about shrinking newspaper pages:

” ‘It (page narrowing) typically gets some people sort of out of joint right at first; some people saying, “What are you doing?” ‘ said Rick Edmonds, a media business analyst at the nonprofit Poynter Institute. ‘People get used to it relatively quickly. There’s not much evidence to show that people are rejecting or extremely upset by that kind of change.’ “
