Sally Singer wants stories in New York Times’ T magazine that attract the newspaper’s broader readership, reports John Koblin. “The question is whether Singer’s pursuit of new readers is messing around with the solid franchise T has become,” he writes. “T, after all, is a magazine that’s primary value to the Times is how much money it brings in; it has never been a journalistic mission.”
