Tony Hunter, who has been Chicago Tribune Media Group publisher, will now oversee day-to-day operations of six Tribune Co. daily papers (South Florida Sun Sentinel, Orlando Sentinel, Baltimore Sun, Hartford Courant, The Morning Call and Daily Press) and their digital operations in addition to those of the Chicago Tribune.

Hunter’s expanded role, and a broader reassignment of finance and administrative functions, will facilitate the elimination of several executive positions within the publishing division, which continues to experience year-over-year declines, the company said.

Those leaving the company: Bob Gremillion, executive vice president of Tribune Publishing; Harry Amsden, senior vice president of financial operations; Naomi Sachs, senior vice president of publishing strategy; and Mike Gart, chief financial officer of Tribune Media Services.
