Poynter owns the Tampa Bay Times. FiveThirtyEight has also hired Kate Elazegui to be creative director, Carl Bialik as a senior writer, Micah Cohen to oversee its blogs, Harry Enten to write about politics and Walter Hickey to write about science and lifestyle.
Wilson has worked at the Times since 1995.
