Jailed journalists won’t get help from Egypt’s new president: Many of Monday’s stories about the jail sentences given to three Al-Jazeera journalists included speculation, and hope, that Egypt’s new president would pardon the men. He will not. On Tuesday, the Associated Press reported that “Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi said Tuesday he will not interfere in court rulings.” Also on Tuesday, the AP shared details about the three journalists. Journalists around the world are reacting to the news through Twitter.
