Katherine Goldstein will be the new editor of Vanity Fair’s website, VF.com, Vanity Fair said in a press release.
“Katherine’s interests run the gamut from photojournalism to digital media to climate change, and I very much look forward to bringing her point of view to VF.com,” (Vanity Fair editor Graydon) Carter said.
Goldstein, who is currently director of social media and traffic at Slate, worked at the Huffington Post before that. According to the press release, “Goldstein will oversee original content initiatives, develop the site’s editorial voice, and identify new opportunities for growth.”

New York, N.Y. (May 13, 2014)—Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter announced today that Katherine Goldstein has been named editor of VF.com.
She currently serves as director of social media and traffic at Slate, where she oversees social media and traffic initiatives and helps develop new editorial concepts. She also edits the site’s news blog, The Slatest, and its photo blog, Behold.
“Katherine’s interests run the gamut from photojournalism to digital media to climate change, and I very much look forward to bringing her point of view to VF.com,” Carter said. “As I understand it, she will also serve as our introduction to indie-rock royalty.” Goldstein’s husband is Dismemberment Plan lead singer Travis Morrison.
Reporting to digital director Mike Hogan, Goldstein will oversee original content initiatives, develop the site’s editorial voice, and identify new opportunities for growth. Under her leadership, Slate’s site has tripled in traffic. Prior to joining Slate in 2010, she was Huffington Post’s green editor. Her first day will be June 9.
