The New York Times

The New York Times has named Amanda Smith to the newly created position of associate publisher of T Magazine, the company announced Monday.

Previously, Smith was an advertising director at The New York Times, according to the announcement. Before that, she was American fashion director at Vogue and worked at The Wall Street Journal.

Smith has been instrumental in creating growth at the magazine, according to a statement by T Magazine publisher Brendan Monaghan:

Amanda is a superstar. Her background couldn’t be better suited for this position with her newspaper and fashion knowledge. She has been key in our growth here at T this year, and I’m looking forward to keeping that momentum going with her by my side.
