If you're not familiar with Geeta Dayal's byline, it's likely you're reading too much about pop music.
Dayal, a freelance music journalist, has racked up bylines everywhere from the Guardian to Frieze subsequent to staff gigs at the Village Voice and Wired. Largely focused on 20th-century classical and electronic music, Dayal's currently at work soldering together a compendium of writing that's set for release in 2018. Her first book was a 2009 exploration of Brian Eno's "Another Green World," issued as part of the 33 1/3 book series.
In this third installment of "No Stars," which was recorded a few months back, we discuss the necessity of context in fully grasping a musician's work, as well as the benefit to living in a city you're less than enamored with to get writing done.
