CNN chief national correspondent and anchor of “Inside Politics” John King is back to manning the network’s so-called “Magic Wall.”
It can feel like a dizzying performance as King zooms in and out of states and discusses voting patterns in detail and compares results to the 2016 presidential election. So it makes sense that he’s been trending on Twitter tonight, but for all kinds of reasons. Below we highlight what some are saying about him.
First, some are marveling at how skilled he is with CNN’s touchscreen map:
How much time does John King spend practicing that touch screen in the four years between presidential election nights? This is his Olympics.

John King is an absolute wizard on the magic wall. He’s swiping, he’s tapping, he’s pinching. A surgical performance thus far

John King and his magic wall on @CNN is winning election night! His knowledge of counties is impressive. He probably knows how your neighbor voted. #Election2020

Others, clearly anxious, weren’t thrilled about him saying the election is fun.
Talking about the tight race in Florida, @cnn county czar John King just said that this is why “elections are fun.” My sense is that the country is now united in a consensus that elections are no longer fun.

There was also a note about King talking almost nonstop tonight except for commercial breaks.
My 5-year-old, watching John King on CNN: “he talks a lot.”

And then there was this keen observation from actress Busy Phillips …
John King just said, AND I QUOTE, “sometimes you get a big dump and it changes everything.” And honestly, yes, John King…Sometimes it does.
